CRAFTSBURY COMMON, Vt. — Sterling College’s Office of Continuing Education is offering full tuition funding to military veterans who attend its agroecological farming and craft food production courses. The continuing education courses are open to all learners and aim to sustain healthy working landscapes, nourish communities, and support food sovereignty.
“We are proud to offer tuition-free educational experiences to our military veterans,” said Christina Goodwin, Vice President for Advancement at Sterling College. “Participating in our hands-on continuing education courses can help prepare veterans for successful careers in agriculture and to become part of the community that is unique to food and farming.”
Course offerings that are eligible for full tuition-funding in 2022 include:
•Food Resilience and Conservation (15 spots available)
•Koji and Friends: Fermenting Foods with Mold (13 spots available)
•Natural Cheesemaking: Raw Milk Cheeses (5 spots available)
•Natural Cheesemaking: Next Level Cheeses (7 spots available)
•Mycology & Color: A Chromatic Universe of Mushroom Dyes (9 spots available)
Veterans and service members transitioning to the private sector are eligible for this program and can receive a registration code by emailing Nakasi Fortune, Director of Continuing Education Services, at nakasi.fortune@sterlingcollege.edu.
