SIOUX CENTER, Iowa — Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach’s annual STEM Fest at Dordt College will begin accepting registrations on Jan. 21 at 5:00 p.m. The 2018 Spring STEM Fest will be held Saturday, Feb. 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Dordt College in Sioux Center.
STEM Fest is open to all area 4th through 8th grade students, but maximum capacity is 200 students. The event offers youth an opportunity to take part in multiple hands-on applications of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Dordt College Campus Center main entrance, with the program beginning at 9:00 a.m. A public showcase will be held at 3:00 p.m. after which youth will be dismissed for the day. Registration fee for STEM Fest is $10 per youth.
“We are excited to be offering many new sessions at our upcoming STEM Fest,” said Ashley Peters, Osceola County Youth Coordinator with ISU Extension and Outreach and co-coordinator of the event. “We have several new partners who will be hosting sessions this year, so we’re excited to offer many different learning opportunities for local youth.”

Parents must register their child(ren) online and choose their child’s first, second and third choice color track which consists of different sessions and activities. Organizers will attempt to honor color track choices, but sessions fill up quickly. No changes to color tracks will happen the day of the event.
Online registration and payment should be completed at https://form.jotform.com/4Hregion1/dordt-stem-fest-2018. Registration will close Feb. 2 or sooner if the maximum of 200 youth is reached prior to that date.
