RALEIGH, N.C.–“Today the administration formally acknowledged that our farmers are hurting during these ongoing trade negotiations. The funds designated for trade assistance, while well intended, fall woefully short compared to the damage to American agriculture by this trade war. The damage is deep and it’s ongoing. This is only a short term solution for farmers who have been at the tip of the spear with these tariffs. For years, North Carolina farmers have been developing trade relationships and meaningful market opportunities and it’s all on the line. We will urge our leaders to continue to work for an open market place on a level playing field.”

–NCFB President Larry Wooten
