NEWPORT, Pa. — Recently, Pennsylvania State Grange underwent a change in leadership. State Master Beth Downey stepped down due to multiple family concerns.
Overseer Wayne Campbell was installed by National Master Betsy Huber during the Master’s Conference in Connecticut as the new Pa. State Grange Master.
Campbell, a lifetime Grange member, was a dairy farmer in his early life before going on to farm equipment and automotive repair and shared ride transit driving.
He has held many positions at the Junior, Subordinate, Pomona and State Grange level, including serving on the State Grange’s Agriculture Committee for six years.
Wayne has been happily married to his high school sweetheart, Debbie, for more than 40 years. Debbie currently serves as State Grange Secretary and was a State Junior Director for six years. They are members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Newport, Pa., where Wayne also serves on the church council. They have three children, Jennifer Danko and husband Ken, Ashley and Nathan and three Grandchildren, Bryce, Riley and Nathan Jr.
