OKLAHOMA CITY — The weather is starting to heat up, and so is State Fair Park’s summer calendar!
Five exciting equine events took place during the month of May at State Fair Park: the Annual Cowboys of Color Rodeo, the Central 4D Barrel Race, the Oklahoma Paint Horse Club World Warm Up Circuit, the Gypsy Horse Association South Central Region Spring Show and the Great Plains Regional Rodeo. Together, these equine events drew more than 8,500 people to the facility and accounted for more than $1.08 million of direct spending into the Oklahoma City economy.
In all, State Fair Park played host to 16 events during the month of May. In addition to those mentioned above, other events included: Just Between Friends Kids Consignment Sale, ScienceFest Oklahoma, the ONA Coin & Currency Show, a Hall of Fame Gun & Knife Show, OSU-OKC Commencement, the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, an OKC Gun Show, Piedmont High School Graduation, Yukon High School Graduation, Oklahoma City Public Schools Graduations, and the Raising Cane’s Crew Appreciation Picnic. All tallied, there were 61,510 people attending the May events at State Fair Park, generating more than $6.4 million in direct spending into the Oklahoma City economy.
