DALLAS, Texas — Saddle up, folks! With the State Fair approximately 50 days away, fairgoers can kick off their Fair celebrations early with equine shows the weekends leading up to Opening Day on Friday, September 24. Taking place in the air-conditioned Fair Park Coliseum, these equine shows are open to the public and free to attend.
WHAT: State Fair of Texas pre-Fair Equine Shows
- Team Roping (August 6 – 8, 2021)
- RSNC Ranch Sorting (August 13 – 15, 2021)
- NRHA Reining (August 20 – 22, 2021)
- Barrel Racing (August 29, 2021)
- Arabian Show (September 3 – 4, 2021)
- Donkey and Mule Shows (September 11 – 12, 2021)
WHEN: Every weekend leading up to the Fair, starting on Friday, August 6 at 6:00 p.m.
WHERE: Fair Park Coliseum, located at 1438 Coliseum Drive, Dallas, TX, 75210.
WHY: As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with agriculture as a cornerstone of our mission, these equine shows serve as a way to entertain and educate fairgoers about livestock.
Similar to the planning for the 2021 State Fair of Texas, the health and safety of everyone involved remains a top priority. The horse shows will have any relevant health and safety precautionary measures in place at the time of each event, such as face mask requirements, social distancing, and increased availability of hand sanitizing stations. All protocols will adhere to local, state, and federal government and health agencies’ mandates.
