Starting Seeds Indoors

It is a free event and open to the public. Many annual flowers and vegetables can be started indoors. If seeds are planted at the right time, given proper lighting, watering and feeding, they should produce an earlier crop of flowers and vegetables than those started outdoors. Gardeners who start their own seeds indoors and grow their own transplants have the advantage of growing varieties that may not be available at local garden centers or greenhouses. Come join Ontario County Master Gardener, Stacey VanDenburgh, as she explains and shows you how to be successful in starting your own seeds for transplanting into the garden. Participants will be planting seeds and taking them home to begin their gardening adventure.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required by contacting the library at 585-289-3559 weekdays after 3:00 pm or on Saturday after 9:00 am.
