ATHENS, Ga. — Corn production for grain in the United States is forecast at 15.0 billion bushels, up slightly from the previous forecast andĀ up 6 percent from 2020. Based on conditions as of October 1, yields are expected to average 176.5 bushels per harvestedĀ acre, up 5.1 bushels from last year. United States soybean production is forecast at a record 4.45 billion bushels, upĀ 2 percent from the previous forecast and up 5 percent from last year. All cotton production in the United States is forecastĀ at 18.0 million 480-pound bales, down 3 percent from the previous forecast but up 23 percent from 2020.Ā Ā

Alabama: Corn for grain production is forecast at 55.1 million bushels for 2021, down 2 percent from the previousĀ forecast but up 9 percent from 2020. Cotton production is forecast at 755,000 bales, down 2 percent from the previousĀ forecast but up 3 percent from last year. Peanut production is forecast at 655 million pounds, down 10 percent from theĀ previous forecast but up 5 percent from 2020. Soybean production is forecast at 13.4 million bushels for 2021, unchangedĀ from the previous forecast but up 19 percent from 2020.Ā Ā
Florida: Cotton production is forecast at 145,000 bales for 2021, down 3 percent from the previous forecast but upĀ 41 percent from last year. Peanut production is forecast at 592 million pounds for 2021, down 5 percent from the previousĀ forecast but up 5 percent from 2020. Sugarcane for sugar and seed production is forecast at 17.3 million tons for 2021,Ā down 8 percent from 2020.Ā Ā
Georgia: Corn for grain production is forecast at 77.4 million bushels for 2021, up 2 percent from the previous forecastĀ and up 10 percent from 2020. Cotton production for 2021 is forecast at 2.25 million bales, up 2 percent from the previousĀ forecast and up 3 percent from last year. Peanut production is forecast at 3.30 billion pounds, unchanged from theĀ previous forecast and down 1 percent from 2020. With yield forecast at a record high 43 bushels per acre, soybeanĀ production is forecast at 5.59 million bushels, up 2 percent from the previous forecast and up 44 percent from 2020.Ā Tobacco production, at 16.0 million pounds, is down 17 percent from last year. Pecan production is forecast atĀ 91.0 million pounds, down 38 percent from last year.Ā
South Carolina: With yield forecast at a record high 136 bushels per acre, corn for grain production is forecast atĀ 53.0 million bushels for 2021, up 1 percent from the previous forecast and up 9 percent from 2020. Cotton production isĀ forecast at 395,000 bales, down 2 percent from the previous forecast but up 32 percent from 2020. With yield forecast at aĀ record high 4,100 pounds per acre, peanut production is forecast at 271 million pounds, up 2 percent from the previousĀ forecast but down 9 percent from last year. Soybean production is forecast at 12.2 million bushels, unchanged from theĀ previous forecast but up 18 percent from 2020. Tobacco production, forecast at 16.0 million pounds, is up 90 percentĀ from 2020.
