ATHENS, Ga. — The United States farm real estate value, a measurement of the value of all land and buildings on farms, averaged $3,800 per acre for 2022, up $420 per acre from 2021. Alabama farm real estate values increased $200 per acre and Florida values increased $580 per acre. Farm real estate values in Georgia increased $290 per acre and in South Carolina values increased $200 per acre.
Cash rent paid to landlords for all cropland in the United States increased $7.00 to $148.00 per acre in 2022. Cash rent for pasture increased to $14.00 per acre up $1.00 from last year. In Alabama, cash rent for cropland averaged $69.00 per acre, an increase of $2.50 from last year. Cash rent for cropland in Florida decreased by $6.00 to $121.00 per acre. Georgia cash rent for cropland was unchanged for 2022 at $135.00 per acre. In South Carolina, cash rent for cropland increased $5.00 to $55.50 per acre.
