WASHINGTON, Iowa — Grazing and Soil Health Specialist Mike Hubbs and State Soil Scientist Rick Bednarek will be providing training on evaluating soil heath and managing cover crops in Washington County on Tuesday, August 28th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Mike Hubbs will be talking about interpreting the PFLA and Haney Tests along with Nutrient Cycling. He will also give a presentation on “How to Get the Soil Health Discussion Started.”
Michael Vittetoe (local Washington County Farmer) will be giving a presentation on how cover crops and nutrient cycling have worked on his farm along with interseeding of cover crops into his corn.
This training opportunity will be held at Marr Park on Tuesday August 28th starting at 9:30am and concluding around 12:30.
