CURTISS, Wis. — Extension Clark County and Extension Taylor County Counties will host series of meetings “So, you want to raise beef.” This is the THIRD of a series of four beef informational meetings. This meeting will be held on August 29, 2019, from 7:30 – 9:00 am, at the Abbyland Truck Stop located at 219 Plaza Dr, Curtiss, WI.
Each participant will be required to pay for their own meal.
The goal of this meeting is to discuss rebreeding decisions for the cow/calf producer and also fall pasture management.
Speakers will inform farmers on rebreeding cattle and the importance of pregnancy checking cows, as well as review the cost of carrying non-pregnant animals through winter. With some farms short of forage, we will review the process of calculating winter feed needs, plus review options to provide additional pasture for fall and winter into next spring.
