ORONO, Maine — Multiple training sessions are scheduled for volunteer citizen scientists interested in tracking seasonal changes affecting the plants, animals and people of Maine. “Signs of the Seasons” training sessions, sponsored by University of Maine Cooperative Extension and Maine Sea Grant, are scheduled in Maine, plus one in New Hampshire.

- Fields Pond Audubon Center, March 27, 4–6:30 p.m., Holden
- UMaine Hutchinson Center, April 3, 4–6:30 p.m., Belfast
- UMaine Extension Hancock County, April 12, 4–6:30 p.m., Ellsworth
- Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, April 27, 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Boothbay
Sessions with an emphasis on monitoring coastal rockweed (Ascophyllum nodosum):
- Darling Marine Center, March 23, 1:30–3:30 p.m., Walpole
- Gundalow Company, April 3, 11 a.m.–1 p.m., Portsmouth
- Kettle Cove State Park, April 5, 1– 3 p.m., Cape Elizabeth
