AUSTIN — Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller announced he will be sworn into office for a third term on Tuesday, January 3rd, at the historic Fort Worth Stockyards.

The event will be held at the Cowboy Channel Studios located at 130 East Exchange Avenue in the Stockyards at 10:00 a.m., with a reception to follow at the Cowboy Channel Bar located at 112 East Exchange Avenue.  Commissioner Miller continues his tradition of being sworn into office outside of Austin, this time bringing the event to North Texas.

“Four years ago, I was sworn in for a second term at the Pharr International Bridge as a gesture of goodwill to our many agricultural partners on both sides of the border, and to stress a commitment to both border security and a successful trading relationship.  But it also demonstrated to me that it provided an opportunity for many to participate in these important public functions who might otherwise never be able to attend such events,” Miller stated.

“Now we are bringing this event to North Texas and to Tarrant County. It’s my way of again allowing others to be involved but it also highlights the importance of both North Texas and Fort Worth to our agricultural industry.  Much of the history of Texas agriculture was written at the Fort Worth Stockyards, but our future is here as well.”
