MANCHESTER, Iowa — The Delaware County Sheep and Goat Weigh-In was held on Saturday, May 4th at the Fairgrounds in Manchester. In total, 91 head of market sheep were weighed-in for the Sheep Show and 55 head of market meat goats were weighed-in for the Meat Goat Show at the 2019 Delaware County Fair. There were a total of 44 sheep and goat 4-H and FFA exhibitors that attended weigh-in. The total number of sheep and goats weighed-in increased slightly from 2018. Exhibitors now have just over 50 days until the fair, where they will showcase their finished projects.
The 2019 Delaware County Fair is set for July 8th through July 14th. The Meat Goat Show will be on Tuesday, July 9th starting at 2:30 p.m., with the Sheep Show to follow at 4:00 p.m.
Reminder to all 4-H and FFA members who weighed-in sheep or goats, to verify their information in 4honline before May 15th. If information has been entered incorrectly or if you have further questions, contact the Extension Office at 563-927-4201. Breeding sheep and goats that did not attend weigh-in must be identified in 4honline by May 15th in order to be exhibited at the 2019 Delaware County Fair.
