STOCKTON, Mo. — “Management is important for a productive and profitable sheep and goat operation,” says Patrick Davis MU Extension Livestock Field Specialist. Therefore, MU Extension will be providing a sheep and goat production management workshop on April 6th at 6:00 p. m. at the SW MU Research, Extension and Education Center located at 14548 State Road H, Mount Vernon, MO, 65712.
“This workshop will discuss sheep and goat operation management and provide strategies to help make your operation productive and profitable,” says Davis. Specific topics that will be discussed by MU Extension ag field specialists include:
- Small ruminant nutrition and Body Condition Scoring
- Selection of replacements and culling
- Small ruminant grazing and pasture rotation
- Small ruminant forage program
