Sheep and goat parasite management workshop to be held on June 27th in Mount Vernon

STOCKTON, Mo. — “Parasite management is important for a productive and profitable sheep and goat operation,” says Patrick Davis MU Extension Livestock Field Specialist.  Therefore, MU Extension will be providing a hands-on sheep and goat parasite management workshop on June 27th at 5:00 p. m. at the SW Mo. MU Research, Extension and Education Center located at 14548 State Road H, Mount Vernon, Mo.

“This workshop will discuss monitoring and controlling internal and external parasites which are key to optimum sheep and goat operation health, production and profitability,” says Davis.  Specific topics discussed by MU Extension livestock and ag business specialists include:

  • Internal and external parasite management
  • 5-point check health monitoring system
  • Financial and production implications of parasite management

Cost of the workshop is $25 per person which includes a meal that will be served during the workshop.  Register online at https://extension.missouri.edu/events/sheep-and-goat-parasite-management-workshop or by contacting the Cedar County MU Extension Center at 417-276-3313 no later than June 23rd.  No refunds after the registration deadline.
