COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — Penn State Extension Montgomery County will offer ServSafe®, The National Restaurant Association’s Food Handler Certification course, Monday, March 16 and Monday, March 23. In Montgomery County, each food service establishment is required to have a ‘Certified Food Sanitation Manager (CFSM)’. This person must be a full-time employee of the food service establishment. The CFSM must also obtain a ‘nationally recognized food protection certificate’. ServSafe® is a Health Department approved food safety and sanitation course.
After attending the ServSafe ® class and passing the proctored, multiple-choice exam with a score of 75% or higher, participants will receive a ServSafe® certificate.
Current Montgomery County Certified Food Safety and Sanitation Managers most complete a certification course and every five years.
