SENECA CO., N.Y. — If you missed us last month, come visit Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension/4-H Youth Development at the Waterloo Rotary Farm Market from 10AM – 1PM on Saturday, October 3rd and enjoy a tasty Chicken BBQ Dinner.  The $10 dinners prepared by K & R Catering will include ½ BBQ chicken, salt potatoes, choice of coleslaw or macaroni salad, and roll.  Bottled water will also be for sale for an additional $1. All proceeds support the programs of Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension including its 4-H Youth Development programming.  The Market is located at 22 Locust Street, Waterloo in the parking lot behind the Village Offices on Main Street.

Dinners sold out fast last time, so order and pay today! You can order your dinners and pay online in advance by visiting the event on our website http://senecacountycce.org/4HChickenBBQ by 11 pm Thursday, October 1st.    Dinners will also be available for purchase at the Waterloo Rotary Farm Market on a first come first serve basis while they last.  We request that presale dinners are picked up by 12:15 pm.

“With the Pandemic some of our funding sources have been cut and it has been difficult to do our usual fundraising to keep our Cooperative Extension and 4-H programs going.” stated Seneca CCE Executive Director Ave Bauder.   “As we gear up our fall nutrition, agriculture, Master Gardener and 4-H programming, fundraisers like this are critical.  We hope people will come out and get a great chicken BBQ that features that signature Cornell Sauce while enjoying all of the fresh produce and other items available at the Waterloo Rotary Farm Market.  As a former Geneva Rotarian, I thank the Waterloo Rotary Club and appreciate their good work in supporting community groups like CCE/4-H by facilitating the Chicken BBQs that have been held throughout the season and for their efforts to make fresh, local produce available through sponsorship of the Farmers’ Market.”

With over 100 years of serving the people of the County, Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension puts to practical use the scholarship and research of Cornell University and the national land grant system in the areas of agriculture and food systems sustainability; nutrition, food safety and security, and obesity prevention; 4-H youth development, and children, youth , and families; environment and natural resources, sustainable energy and climate change; and community and economic vitality.  The office is located at 308 Main Street Shop Centre in Waterloo.  For more information about this and other programs, please visit our website, www.senecacountycce.org, our Facebook pages www.facebook.com/CCESeneca, www.facebook.com/senecacounty4hny, www.facebook.com/WildHarvestTable, www.facebook.com/CCEsenecaF2S; contact us at 315-539-9251 or email seneca@cornell.edu.
