BROOKINGS, S.D. — The top six horse hitches from SD, MN, IA, KS, IL, IN, MI, OK, CO and UT will enjoy some great South Dakota hospitality when they trot in to the show ring to compete in the only SD qualifying show for the North American Classic Six Horse Hitch Series competition June 24 & 25 at the Swiftel Center in Brookings, SD. More than sixty plus one ton draft horses in the ring at once makes the Dakota Royal Charity Draft Horse Show a real BIG DEAL for South Dakota.
Belgian, Percheron, Shire and Clydesdale draft horse breeds from ten states have entered the Saturday & Sunday six horse hitch competitions. This SD show is unique by starting with the six horse hitch competition at 1pm daily, as its first class, so don’t be late! Additional hitch classes of fours, unicorns, teams, carts, ladies & youth, along with farm team contests will provide plenty of show ring action. Be sure to visit the barns after each show to meet the gentle giant draft horses and their drivers.
Tickets are available at the Swiftel Center in Brookings, SD or at the door the day of the show. Admission is $10 adults & $5 for 11 & under. With free parking, AC comfort, stadium seating and an elevator, a multi generation family afternoon is easy.
