HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation of Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association are offering up to 10 scholarships to Pennsylvania young dairy producers and other individuals interested in attending the PDPW Cornerstone Dairy Academy. The Cornerstone Academy focuses on the fundamentals of people-development skills, such as communication and leadership tools. Hosted by the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin at Alliant Energy Center in Madison, WI., on March 13 and 14, 2018, the academy’s program has been developed to meet the needs of today’s dairy leaders across the country.
“We are pleased to support scholarships to the Cornerstone Academy because of its focus on developing visionary and servant leaders,” said David Smith, executive director of the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association. “We believe that the knowledge and skills that young dairy producers and professionals will obtain from this conference will not only benefit them but their farms, and the entire Pennsylvania dairy industry.”
“Developing leaders within Pennsylvania’s dairy industry and on individual dairy farms is critical to our future as a leading dairy state,” said Jayne Sebright, executive director of the Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation. “PDPW is well-known for offering exceptional programs that encourage those leadership skills. We want to help Pennsylvania’s dairy producers and other leaders take advantage of that expertise.”
These scholarships are designated to cover the costs of registration, hotel and transportation up to $1,500. This year’s conference offers a choice of three different learning pillars that focus on personal growth in leadership within families and business. Keynote speakers include Trevina Broussard, Susan Richardson, Hank Wagner, Dr. Richard Kyte, Dr. David Kohl and Tom Thibodeau. It culminates on Day 2 when individuals attending the academy put their skills to work, networking at the 2018 PDPW Business Conference.
