“Scholarships for high school seniors and undergrad students are common. Scholarships for those pursuing a post graduate degree are not as common, but still vitally important,” Shackelford said. “Richard Gebhart was a unique visionary who earned several degrees in his lifetime. The Gebhart family has chosen to honor their loved one by providing a scholarship as special as Richard Gebhart’s legacy.”
Richard Gebhart is a past president of the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association and served in several other capacities within the beef industry on a local, state and national level.
The Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Foundation was created to provide a charitable trust for the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association and Oklahoma Junior Cattlemen’s Association. When you support the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Foundation, you support beef cattle educational programs, research projects in cooperation with Oklahoma State University, educational scholarships for Oklahoma’s 4-H and FFA youth and the preservation of the Oklahoma beef cattle industry and its traditions.
