NICOLLET, Minn. — The Minnesota Beef Council has named Schmidt’s Meat Market of Nicollet, Minn. the 2018 Minnesota Beef Backer in Retail. Schmidt’s Meat Market is recognized for their German-influenced style, long-standing family tradition, exceptional customer service and high quality meats. They carry a complete line of fresh meats, plus smoked and cured meats. They take pride in their traditional method of smoking, where they use whole pieces of wood as the source of heat and smoke, setting them apart from other meat markets. Beef quarters are one of their hottest selling meat cut.

“We are truly honored to be presented the Minnesota Beef Backer in Retail award from the Minnesota Beef Council. It is humbling to be selected from so many outstanding meat producers and retailers in the state of Minnesota.” Ryan Schmidt continues, “We have grown from a small meat processor in 1947, providing custom processing services to area farmers, to today having a large retail presence providing fresh retail meats, a wide variety of award-winning specialty sausages, deli meats, cheeses and salads. Our passion is providing quality meats and services in a unique and old-fashioned meat market setting.”

Their undeniably-friendly customer service is recognized, as new and repeat customers come to Schmidt’s. They currently have 50 full-time and part-time employees, including production workers, retail clerks and students.

“We are truly a full-service meat market with experienced meat cutters always on staff to cut items how you want them cut,” says Ryan Schmidt. “We want you to feel taken care of, and have an experience that you will never forget.”

On their website, Schmidt’s offers a “Cooking Corner,” where customers can seek guidance on preparation, party-planning and recipes. It is of utmost importance to leave consumers with the best beef eating experience.

“The Beef Backer program is our way of recognizing those establishments that exhibit leadership and excellence when serving beef,” said Mark Malecek, board chairman for the Minnesota Beef Council. “We congratulate Schmidt’s Meat Market of Nicollet, Minn. on this award and encourage customers to visit them for a great beef eating experience.”
