SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Join us for a FREE Horse Farm tour on Saturday, August 19, 2017. The community is invited for a drive- it-yourself tour of select horse farms around the county; several local farms have graciously agreed to open their doors to the public from 12:00 noon – 4:00PM. This tour is a wonderful opportunity to personally meet some of the farm owners and horses that make the Saratoga area so unique.
This farm tour will be fun and educational for the whole family… a perfect way to spend a summer Saturday afternoon. Horse lovers and families will delight in meeting the different breeds of horses and get a behind the scenes look at the horses that are frequently our neighbors here in Saratoga County. The horse farms featured this year on the tour are: Avanti Stables in the Town of Greenfield, Old Friends at Cabin Creek in the Town of Greenfield, Sand Hill Farm in the Town of Galway, Birsh Family Farm in the Town of Galway, and Stormy View Stables in the Town of Ballston Lake.
Saratoga County is the permanent home to approximately 4,200 horses.
This tour is sponsored by the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors and the New York Thoroughbred Breeding and Development Fund. They are partnering with CCE Equine and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Saratoga County to create a link between the farming community and the public-at-large.
