VALATIE, N.Y. — The 4-H Dairy Bowl teams from Saratoga County had a great showing at the 2018 Capital District 4-H Dairy Bowl on March 3rd at Ichabod Crane Middle School in Valatie, NY. This contest tests 4-H member’s knowledge of dairy sciences, dairy and agricultural policy and dairy industry economics. 4-H’ers prepared and studied for several weeks in preparation for this contest, and we are happy to announce that their hard work paid off.
In the Junior Contest, Saratoga County 4-H’s team of Caitlyn VanDeusen, Zane Swatling, Ryleigh Wadsworth, Wyatt Swatling and coach Ginny VanDuesen took 2nd place. Caitlyn VanDuesen placed 2nd Individual, Zane Swatling 3rd Individual and Wyatt Swatling was 6th individual.
In the Senior Contest, Saratoga County 4-H’s two teams took 1st and 3rd Places. Our 1st Place team consisted of Blake Wadsworth, Libby Swatling, Lauren DeSorbe (Washington County) and coach Seth Wadsworth. The 3rd Place team was made up of Grace Hanehan, Lainey Koval, John Luke and coach Heather Swatling. Blake Wadsworth placed 1st Individual, Grace Hanehan 2nd Individual, Lainey Koval 5th Individual, Libby Swatling 7th Individual and John Luke 10th Individual.
We would like to congratulate our outstanding 4-H Dairy Bowl teams and coaches. We also wish good luck to those members and coaches advancing to the NYS 4-H Dairy Bowl Competition.
