Sanitation, generations working, market update

Free online episodes help dairy producers stay on top of industry news, trends

Episodes of PDPW’s The Dairy Signal this week will provide dairy farmers with information to improve how they manage their facilities, teams and markets.

JUNEAU, Wis. — Episodes of PDPW’s The Dairy Signal this week will provide dairy farmers with information to improve how they manage their facilities, teams and markets. The Tues., Feb. 15, episode will focus on protocols for cleaning equipment and facilities around calves, and Wednesday’s session will highlight strategies to bridge generation gaps in the workplace. Thursday will bring a bi-weekly market analysis and news update.

Tuesday, Feb. 15
Keeping calves healthy starts with effective sanitation protocols, including properly cleaning and disinfecting bottles and using pasteurizers. Learn how to develop and verify the effectiveness of your dairy’s cleaning procedures. Episode presenter will be:

  • Dr. Donald Sockett, DVM, MS, PhD, DACVIM (large animal), Veterinary Microbiologist/Epidemiologist, Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (WVDL), University of Wisconsin

Wednesday, Feb. 16
Opportunities and challenges arise when multiple generations work together. Discuss the differences in behaviors, outlooks and expectations of each generation and learn strategies to communicate effectively and bridge generational gaps. Episode presenter will be:

  • Dr. Becky Stewart-Gross, PhD, President, Building Bridges Seminars

Thursday, Feb. 17
Gain insights on the latest news and analysis of agricultural markets and trends that will impact dairy producers and the agriculture industry. Episode presenter will be:

Developed by fellow dairy farmers from the Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW) Board of Directors, The Dairy Signal™ is a weekly series of free educational episodes offering insights and resources for fellow dairy farmers and other food system professionals throughout the value chain. The episodes air live from 12:00-1:00 PM CT each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Live sessions offer attendees the opportunity to engage in open Q&A with the speakers; recorded sessions are available later in the day.
