JEFFERSON CITY — The 2017 MSF’s opening weekend (Aug. 12-13) is Salute to Our Heroes Weekend and will honor military, firefighter and law enforcement personnel. Both days will offer a great variety of entertainment, competitions, carnival fun and more!
Saturday, Aug. 12
NEW! Law Enforcement/Firefighter Appreciation Day– Free gate admission for Municipal-County-State law enforcement and Missouri Firefighters-EMTs-Paramedics with appropriate I.D.; $1 gate admission for immediate family members (spouse and dependent children).
Saturday, Aug 12 is also Pepsi Day! $1 off adult admission with coupon on special 2 liter Pepsi products, valid today only; redeem coupon at gate admission ticket booth.

Sunday, Aug. 13
Military Appreciation Day, Sponsored by I-Land Internet Services– Free gate admission for active military, veterans and delayed entry recruits with appropriate I.D.; $1 admission for immediate family members (spouse and dependent children). Coupons available at admission gate for military and immediate family (spouse & dependent children) good for $5 off Unlimited Carnival Ride wristband, valid Aug. 13 only. Redeem coupon at carnival midway tickets booths.
Highlights of the day include:
- Military Appreciation Ceremony– 2 pm, Mathewson Exhibition Center. The Ceremony will commemorate the centennial of WWI and celebrate our military families by incorporating the MSF’s theme “Come Home.” There will be a tank, Howitzers and a WWI era canon on display, and The 135th Army Band will perform. Generals from Missouri’s armed forces bases and approximately 200 Patriot Guard Riders will be in attendance. Joe Driskill, Missouri’s First Military Advocate, will serve as emcee.
- “Stars of Service” Military Resource Fair– 10 am-4 pm, South of Mathewson Exhibition Center
