MILLERSTOWN, Pa. — The PA Veteran Farming Project invites Pennsylvanians to toast military veterans throughout the state who grow hops, brew beer, operate wineries, and distill spirits on Veterans Day, and all month.
These warriors turned “agri-preneurs” served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. Each has a unique story: from a former JAG attorney raising hops…to an Army National Guard soldier who invented an oaking tool for home vinters…to an Air Force veteran whose military-themed tea (for those who prefer less ‘spirited’ beverages) supports her fellow female veterans.
Find their profiles and download a printable list at troopstotractors.org/toastingveterans .
While the fall weather is still mild, why not take a drive to visit, salute, and say ‘thanks’ to these veterans in your community, and to raise a glass with friends and family in honor of all who have served. Some even offer outdoor, dog-friendly areas to enjoy their wares. Also find a wide variety of other veteran farms and agribusinesses at troopstotractors.org –and remember to say ‘thank you for your service’ buy buying veteran grown, raised, and made.
