MARIANNA, Fla. — The annual Row Crop Short Course, a peanut/cotton themed production meeting will be hosted at the extension office in Marianna (2741 Penn Ave, Marianna, Fl 32448) next Thursday (March 2). Registration and trade show begin at 7:15am CST, the meeting begins promptly at 7:45am CST, and concludes with a sponsored lunch at 12pm.
Researchers from UF and UGA will be discussing peanut and cotton variety performance, as well as weed control, disease control, nematicide use, and fertility management for the two crops. Attendees will also hear updates from representatives with the Florida Peanut Producers Association and Cotton Inc.
Florida and Georgia pesticide applicators will earn CEUs for their license. Certified Crop Advisors in attendance will also be able to earn CCA credits. For questions or more information contact Ethan Carter or Liz Jackson at the Jackson County Extension Office (850-482-9620).
