Roll of Victory winners awarded at the 2022 Angus Convention

Champions in the ring received recognition at the 2022 Awards Dinner in Salt Lake City, Utah

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Angus cattle have a tradition of excellence in the show ring and that history continues across the country each year. The American Angus Association® created the Roll of Victory (ROV) Show Program to recognize show-winning animals, their sires, dams, breeders and owners. The ROV Show Heifer of the Year, the ROV Bull of the Year and the ROV Breeder of the Year were honored at the 2022 American Angus Association Awards Dinner and Reception on November 6 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

“The 2021-2022 ROV show program included 20 shows across the country. We love seeing how the competition improves every year” said Caitlyn Brandt, director of events and junior activities. “We congratulate the winners on their achievements.”

The ROV season runs from June 1 through May 31. There are seven Super ROV shows and 13 other recognized shows for a total of 20 shows per year. Points for these shows are accumulated on an annual basis.

The ROV Show Heifer of the Year was SSF Lady 5030 owned by Houston Ferree of Sullivan, Indiana. The heifer received grand champion honors at the American Angus Breeders Futurity and the World Beef Expo and reserve honors at the North American International Livestock Exposition and Fort Worth Stock Show.

The ROV Show Bull of the Year was Conley DS Clear Cut 0510 owned by Conley Cattle, Sulphur, OK; Ferree Fitzgerald, Sullivan, IN; David Smith, Boulder, CO. This bull was grand champion bull at the National Western Stock Show, Western National Angus Futurity, Atlantic National and the Tennessee State Fair.

The ROV Breeder of the Year was Express Ranches of Yukon, Oklahoma. Express Ranches earned 832 points from the 20 eligible shows throughout the year. This is the 11th consecutive year Express Ranches has won the award.
