BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Interested farmers have an opportunity to meet with the Administrator of USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA), Martin Barbre, at listening sessions in Illinois the week of Aug. 26.
RMA understands how difficult this year has been for farmers across Illinois and how important crop insurance is, especially this year. The agency has made a number changes this spring and summer to help farmers deal with the unprecedented wet spring. In particular, changes related to cover crops on prevented planting acreage and additional time to pay premiums this fall.
These sessions will provide an opportunity to get an update on crop insurance, ask questions and provide feedback. The upcoming schedule is below:
