BISMARCK — Riston Zielke of Hebron was the winner of the 2017 Young Farmers and Ranchers Discussion Meet competition. For his outstanding efforts, he received a Polaris 4-wheeler and will go on to represent North Dakota in the national meet next January at the American Farm Bureau Federation Annual Convention in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Discussion Meet is designed to simulate a committee meeting where discussion and active participation are expected from each participant. This competition is evaluated on an exchange of ideas and information on a pre-determined topic.

The meet took place Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the NDFB Farm and Ranch Conference in Fargo.

The final four contestants in the competition were Jalyn Klauzer, Garrett Brown, Jenna Aasmundstad and Riston. They all received a Yeti cooler and Riston took home the big prize.
