PLEASANTON, Neb. — Regen Ag Lab, a laboratory focused on regenerative agriculture-based out of Pleasanton, NE, is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Rick Haney to its team. Rick is the new Lead Scientist and Data Analyst for Regen Ag Lab. Dr. Haney will be working to improve our understanding and interpretation of soil test results related to production, profitability, and restoration under regeneratively managed systems.
Dr. Haney is a former Soil Chemist/Microbiologist and Research Farmer at the USDA-ARS Grassland Soil and Water Research Laboratory in Temple, TX, and creator of the Haney Soil Health Test. Rick grew up farming in Custer County, OK, before he earned his Ph.D. in soil microbial ecology and chemistry from Texas A&M University. Rick has researched soil ecology and soil testing for more than 30 years. Rick received several awards for his research from the USDA for meeting its strategic goal of strengthening the stewardship of private lands through technology and research.
Regen Ag Lab was established in 2019 on the foundation of providing accurate, reliable, and impactful analytical testing services surrounding the principles of soil health and regenerative agriculture. Regen Ag Lab is co-owned and operated by Lance Gunderson, an expert on the Haney and PLFA tests with nearly 10 years of experience reviewing over 50,000 samples, and Jeremy Dalland, who has 13 years of management experience operating a commercial agricultural lab. The Regen Ag Lab family has nearly 100 years of combined experience as previous co-workers in a commercial agricultural laboratory.
