PUEBLO, Colo. — Registration is now open for the 2019 Colorado State Fair Stampede, a family-friendly 5K run and two-mile fun walk, to be held on August 31, 2019.
The flat running course begins at the Colorado State Fairgrounds and winds through the historic surrounding Pueblo neighborhood. The walking route circles the perimeter of the fairgrounds. Both will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the awards ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m. First, second, and third place state fair ribbon rosettes will be presented to the top male and female runners in each age category.

The 2019 Colorado State Fair will take place August 23 – September 2. This year’s theme is “Horsin’ Around Since 1869 in Pueblo, Colorado” and celebrates 150 years of horse shows and competitions at the fair. The state fairgrounds provides nearly $34 million in economic activity to Colorado throughout the year; $29 million of that activity is driven by the annual State Fair event. In addition to showcasing Colorado agriculture, the annual event features one of the country’s largest traveling carnivals, artwork, crafts, food competitions, rodeo action, a wide variety of food and merchandise booths and a Fiesta Day honoring Colorado’s Hispanic culture.
