MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — Farmer members are planning to gather on Dec. 5 and 6 at the Sheraton in Framingham for the 2019 annual meeting of the Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF). This year’s annual meeting program is valued packed with Thursday, Dec. 5, featuring a full day of workshops that address the critical issues facing the agricultural industry in the Commonwealth. Topics for discussion will include hemp, small scale backyard poultry, H2A, overtime regulations and more. After a full day, attendees can enjoy the banquet, during which the 2019 Joh Ogownowski award will be presented to a deserving farmer.
“MFBF’s annual meeting is a prime opportunity for farmer members to gather and discuss the issues that are important to them and their businesses,” said MFBF President Mark Amato. “I hope to see many of our members in attendance this year and look forward to some interesting learning sessions on Thursday.”
Thursday’s program will also feature a forum discussion for members campaigning for leadership positions within the organization to participate in. This workshop will feature a question and answer session with the audience so members can get to know their potential leaders.
The meeting will also include a delegate’s session, during which appointed county representatives will discuss and vote on policy priorities for 2020 and beyond.
