CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, N.J. — Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County Agriculture and Natural Resources Program is offering the workshop, Herbs: Folklore, Uses and Cultivation in April, as part of the 2017 Workshop Series, “Gardening by the Seasons.” The workshop will take place on April 27 from 5:30 to 8 p.m., rain or shine, at Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 355 Courthouse – South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey.
The presenter will be Jennifer Matthews, Owner, Stone Circle Farm. Participants will learn the historic importance of herbs, how to grow herbs in your garden, how to preserve herbs, and the culinary and home uses for herbs. Also, the program will include a tea tasting. Plus, participants will blend their own tea to take home.
“We offered this very popular program with Jenn Matthews last fall and it sold out early. So, we are offering it again this spring to give more residents the opportunity to learn the many uses for herbs and how to grow them,” said Jenny S. Carleo, Rutgers Cooperative Extension Agricultural Agent for Cape May County.
This is a beginner class, therefore, no experience is needed. The cost for this workshop is $25 and includes dinner at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program at 6 p.m. Seats are limited, so register early. Register at http://tinyurl.com/Herbs2017 by April 21.
