WATERTOWN, N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County will be hosting a free webinar, Swine 101: Pig Basics, on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 7:00pm-8:30pm. Veterans and Military families are welcome and encouraged to attend!
Springtime is a common time of year when North Country farmers begin raising piglets. This introductory online class, through Zoom, will go over the basics in raising pigs from start to finish, including best management practices, hog care and marketing of pigs. This program was created and will be instructed by Gabby Wormuth, the Dairy & Livestock Specialist for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson and Lewis counties and Betsy Hodge, Livestock Educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County.
