LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. — Save water by installing a rain barrel. Rain barrels sit underneath a downspout to collect water from the roof each rain event; the water can be saved and used to water plants in your yard. By using a rain barrel, you can help save drinking water resources, decrease water and sewer bills, use higher quality water for plants and reduce polluted runoff from storms.
On June 22 at 10 a.m., join Master Gardeners and Master Watershed Stewards for a Rain Barrel Workshop at the Wayne A. Grube Memorial Park, Pavilion 3, 1200 Willowbrook Road, Northampton, PA 18067. This workshop will guide you through the process of constructing your own, fully functioning rain barrel. Workshop cost is $45.
