Quarles praises appointees McKinney & Clovis

New USDA under secretaries for trade and research announced

PUBLISHED ON July 20, 2017

“I am pleased to see President Trump delivering on his promise to place experienced leaders at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He has done Kentucky’s farm families a tremendous service by naming Ted McKinney as Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs and Dr. Sam Clovis as Under Secretary for Research, Education, and Economics,” Commissioner Quarles said.

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles praised President Donald J. Trump’s selection of Ted McKinney and Dr. Sam Clovis to be under secretaries at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

“Created in 2014, the position of Under Secretary for Trade was left vacant during the last administration. Filling these positions with top-notch agricultural leaders proves the Trump administration and Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue are listening to the needs of the agricultural community.”
