UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Swine producers and supporting industry professionals are invited to participate in the Swine Health Short Course, a three-day event hosted by Penn State Extension with support from the Pennsylvania Pork Producers Council and other industry members. This course will be held on March 22, 23, and 24, 2021, via Zoom.
This continuing education program will focus on managing pig herd health with prevention of illness on farm. Experts in pig physiology, disease management, nutrition, genetics, and daily pig care from around the United States will be on hand to discuss resources available to pig producers in preventing illness and managing disease in the herd.
The course will focus on optimizing immune function through selection and husbandry and minimizing exposure to diseases through biosecurity and health management.
Registrants will receive a pig health box in the mail with educational materials and animal health management tools.
All parts of the course will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Education for this event is funded by the Pennsylvania Pork Producers Council and PIC.
