LEMOYNE, Pa. — The Pennsylvania State Council of Farm Organizations, in conjunction with the Risk Management Agency of USDA, will hold seven community service seminars across Pennsylvania in 2019 and 2020. These will assist farmers in better understanding tools for risk management, including crop insurance.
These seminars will cover elements of a farm risk management plan which includes food safety, crop insurance and information on what to ask an insurance agent to make sure that farmers’ insurance needs are met.
Schedule:
- Aug. 14 — AG Progress Days, Pennsylvania Furnace (Penn State)
- Sept. 12 — MidAtlantic Farm Credit, Mt. Joy, Lancaster County
- Sept. 17 — Red Lion Grange, Windsor, Pa., York County
- Nov. 7 — Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Tunkhannock, Wyoming County
- Nov. 14 — Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Montoursville, Lycoming County
- Jan. 8, 2020 — Pennsylvania Farm Show, Harrisburg, Dauphin County
In addition, one will be held in Emlenton, Venango County in February 2020, details pending.
