BANGOR, Maine — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension is offering a four- part course in Pruning Woody Landscape Plants at the Penobscot County Office in Bangor. The course is scheduled for Thursday mornings March 21 & 28 and April 4 & 11 from 10:30 am – 2:00 pm, as well as a snow date of April 18. In each session there will be both classroom and hands-on practice of skills at an off-site location. Participants will gain experience pruning ornamental trees and shrubs, fruit trees and small fruits (blueberries, grapes, and raspberries). Course instructors include Marjorie Peronto, Extension Educator; Dr. Reeser Manley, Horticulturist; and Dr. David Handley, UMaine Extension Small Fruits Specialist, and Brett Johnston, local Orchardist.
The cost of the program is $55.00. A textbook is provided.
