BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Progressive Agriculture Safety Day program will hold in-person, live safety demonstrations and tabletop activities during the 2021 Wisconsin Farm Technology Days, July 20-22, at Huntsinger Farm in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
“We are excited to be able to attend the Wisconsin Farm Technology Days again in-person this year to share our critical safety and health message, said Brian Kuhl, president and chief executive officer of the Progressive Agriculture Foundation®. “Our booth this year will encompass safety demonstrations and activities for youth around everyday happenings on the farm, ranch, and in rural communities.”
The Progressive Agriculture Safety Day program will be located in the youth area of the event with the Youth and Career Discovery Zone Activities from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. Throughout the show, program staff will provide safety demonstrations focused on farm and rural topics geared towards youth audiences.
This year’s booth will also highlight the importance of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and utility task vehicles (UTVs) safety, featuring a youth sized Polaris RANGER 500 UTV that was donated to the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day program in partnership with Polaris, 4-star sponsor, to help educate children on safe riding practices.
“Sadly, we know that many ATV and UTV incidents occur due to operator error and can be prevented with the right education,” added Kuhl.
In addition to ATV and UTV safety, showgoers of all ages will have the opportunity to learn firsthand a number of best practices through various tabletop activities. Older guests interested in becoming involved in the program can experience a glimpse into more than 30 topics that could be offered at a local Safety Day throughout North America each year. Program staff will be on hand to answer questions about how to become a trained volunteer Safety Day coordinator, and the steps needed to bring a Safety Day to a new local community.
