CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — An association that promotes organic farming in New Hampshire is hosting six virtual farm tours.
The Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Hampshire, through a program that promotes workforce development in the sector, is hoping the tours educate farmers and provides support for the best practices in organic farming. It also is a chance for farm workers to learn from experience growers and find out about organic farming careers.
The first tour took place Thursday and focused on small farming operations. The next tour on Aug. 12 will focus on gardening efficiency and extending the growing season. The third session on Aug. 26 focuses on growing organic grapes, the fourth on Sept. 9 discussed four season farming, the fifth on Sept. 30 will discuss organic vegetable and poultry farm and the sixth on Oct. 15 examines grazing and speciality crops.
All the tours take place on farms around the state.
