ITHACA, N.Y. — Three Cornell food science professors will hold special online “office hours” on March 23 at 4 p.m. to answer questions from food industry representatives on the burgeoning COVID-19 crisis.
The remote videoconference – the first of three sessions – can be accessed here.
Food science panelists will be Sam Alcaine, assistant professor; Olga Padilla-Zakour, professor; and Martin Wiedmann, the Gellert Family Professor in Food Safety. Scheduled to join the conference are Casey McCue, director, milk control and dairy services at the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets; and John Luker, assistant director, food safety and inspection at Ag and Markets.
Last week, Cornell’s Institute for Food Safety created a comprehensive website to answer many frequently asked questions for commercial processors.
The March 23 session will be open to the public, while the events on March 25 and March 27 will require prior registration – allowing participants to submit questions in advance.
For the March 25 event, at noon, participants may register here.
For the March 27 session, at 8 a.m., participants may register here.
