WATERLOO, Iowa — Iowa State University Extension & Outreach Black Hawk County will offer four opportunities to attend the Private Pesticide Applicator Continuing Instruction Course, led by Extension Field Agronomist, Terry Basol.
Four sessions are scheduled to be held in Black Hawk County as follows:
- January 4th at 1:30 pm in Buchanan Hall at Hawkeye Community College
- January 13th a full day Crop Advantage conference in Cedar Falls
- February 14th at 9:30 am in Buchanan Hall at Hawkeye Community College
- March 15th at 7:00 pm in Buchanan Hall at Hawkeye Community College
The course will fulfill 2021-2022 recertification requirements for private pesticide applicators. Topics to be covered include Review of pesticide labels, especially recent changes in pesticides, review of pesticide labels as restricted entry intervals, preharvest intervals impacted pesticide use decisions this year, review of pesticide use and the environment, and updates on pests and pest management in your area, including insects, weeds, and diseases.
