MAPLE PLAIN, Minn. — The Minnesota Beef Council is excited to announce that the 2019 Minnesota Beef “Prime Promoter of the Year” has been awarded to Blondie’s Butcher Shop of Wanamingo, Minnesota. This award is presented to an organization, club or business that shows outstanding promotion of beef to consumers throughout the year.
Blondie’s Butcher Shop was purchased by owner, Lindsay Fulton, and her family in 2015. Today, it is recognized as a pink-painted, full-on custom meat processing plant with retail offerings and a full line of catering. Fulton prides herself in being active in the community to promote beef throughout the year. Her favorite beef promotion in 2019 was selling beef bundles for a local high school volleyball team. The holiday beef bundle packages included prime rib, steaks, hamburger and beef sticks. The new fundraiser was a success and seen as a valuable opportunity for allowing local community members to sponsor both the volleyball team and the butcher shop.
Blondie’s Butcher Shop is known for their aged beef products that are offered for promotions and events, specifically aged tenderloins and prime ribs. Blondie’s Butcher Shop processes over 1,500 head of beef each year for customers. The retail side of the business continues to grow each quarter, and the catering side serves over 500 beef meals to customers annually.
“We are honored to be presented with this award and continue beef promotions. We value our relationship with our community and the Minnesota Beef Council,” said Lindsay Fulton.
Blondie’s Butcher Shop will receive a $500 award to be used for beef promotions throughout the coming year, as well as their name engraved on the “Prime Promoter of the Year” plaque.
If you or your local organization does an outstanding job promoting beef, please consider applying to be next year’s Minnesota Beef “Prime Promoter of the Year.”
