RIVERSIDE, Calif. — The University of California, Riverside will host the 20th Primavera in the Gardens wine and food tasting fundraiser on Sunday, May 20 from 2 – 5 p.m. at the UCR Botanic Gardens.
Guests can celebrate the spring season with delicious food, wine, and beer from local suppliers while listening to live music and enjoying the garden’s ambience. Entertainment will be provided by Marti & the Smooth Catz, Tom Perring, and a UCR student jazz combo. A silent auction will be held, featuring arts, crafts, fine wines, and more.
Proceeds from the event contribute to the Primavera Fund, which supports new botanic gardens initiatives, trail and garden maintenance, community enrichment activities, and employment opportunities for UCR students.
Wine is from the cellars of Callaway Vineyards & Winery, Canyon Crest Winery, Falkner Winery, Galleano Winery, Hart Winery, Lorimar Vineyards & Winery, Maurice Car’rie Winery, Mystic Hills Vineyard, Oak Mountain Winery, and Via One Hope Winery. Craft beer will be offered by Euryale, Inland Empire, Packinghouse, and Wicks Brewing Companies.
Participating restaurants include Café Sevilla, Edible Arrangements, GraPow, Habanero Mexican Grill, Mario’s Place, Migliore Gourmet Foods, Smokey Canyon BBQ, The Salted Pig, UCR’s Citrus Grove Catering, Isabella’s Cupcakes & More, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Augie’s Coffee House.

The UCR Botanic Gardens cover nearly 40 acres of micro-climates that contain more than 3,500 plant species from around the world. Every year, nearly 25,000 visit the garden’s scenic pathways and participate in children’s education programs, including numerous school tours.
