DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — It’s that time of year to enjoy those wonderful Maine apples, and dehydrating is a great way to preserve the harvest.
In a University of Maine Cooperative Extension Lunch and Learn Preserve Apples workshop at 1:30 p.m., Sept. 23 at the Piscataquis County office, 165 East Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, Extension personnel will review the recommended safe practices to dehydrate a harvest. Recipes for apple products also will be available.
Also available that day will be free canner pressure gauge testing from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Annual testing is recommended to ensure accuracy. No appointment is needed.
The workshop is free; please register on the event webpage so Extension can plan accordingly. For more information or to request a reasonable accommodation, contact 207.564.3301; anette.moulton@maine.edu.
