CANYON, Texas — The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Randall County will conduct the annual Producer Pre-Plant Meeting Jan. 25 at the Kuhlman Extension Center, 200 N. Brown Road, Canyon.
“The pre-plant conference is extremely valuable for our producers,” said J. D. Ragland, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension agricultural and natural resources agent for Randall County. “Producers can learn about the results of last year’s studies and trials, as well as hear about management decisions that can increase profitability this season.”
The program is free with sponsorship from Happy State Bank. Texas Wheat Producers Board is sponsoring the noon lunch. Attendees are asked to preregister by 5 p.m. Jan. 23 by calling the AgriLife Extension office in Randall County at 806-468-5543.
Three Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be provided – two general and one laws and regulations for the hour-long auxin training – following lunch.

— Irrigation – Key Factors in Concentrating on Few Acres, David Parker, Ph.D., water engineering specialist with AgriLife Extension and West Texas A&M University.
— Dryland Crop Practices for Profitability, Craig Bednarz, Ph.D., crop physiologist with Texas A&M AgriLife Research and West Texas A&M.
— Wheat Update/Recap 2022 Season and Outlook for 2023, Darby Campsey, Texas Wheat Producers Board, Amarillo.
— 2022 Randall County Sorghum Trial Summary – Adams Farm, Ragland.
