APPLETON, Maine — On Wednesday, July 26 Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District and Maine Coast Heritage Trust will present “Pollination Services & Community Partnerships,” the fifth session in the 2017 Beginning Farmer Workshop Series. The program will be held at Terra Optima Farm, 908 Gurneytown Road in Appleton from 5:30 to 7:00pm and will be followed by a potluck.
Join farmer Cheryl Denz of Terra Optima and beekeeper Joe DeStefano from Posto Bello Apiaries to learn about their partnership to provide pollination services to the farm and honey for the beekeeper. They will share how this relationship works, discuss contract specifications, and the benefits of the partnership to each.
Also on hand will be Jean Vose, Knox-Lincoln County Beekeepers, to answer questions and provide information for those of you who want to get your own hives.
